The Quest version of Arizona Sunshine will launch on December 5th, just over a week away, after the port was first unveiled at our E3 VR Showcase earlier this year.
The zombie shooter from Vertigo Games launched on other platforms around 3 years ago, and is currently available on PC VR and PSVR. The game also recently received some new DLC, which we also debuted footage of during our E3 Showcase earlier in the year.
Arizona Sunshine is now available to preorder on the Quest store, and is discounted by 10% up until the 2nd of December. However, there will be a few differences between the Quest version of the game and the original on other platforms. Vertigo Games took to Twitter after the release date announcement to clarify a few common questions.
The developers confirmed that the Quest version would not support cross-buy with the Rift version. They stated that, “one of the tough decisions [they] had to make was to not offer cross-buy as to support the development of this version and it’s DLC. The game has been rebuilt from the ground up for this release.”
They also confirmed that the recent DLC will not be present on the Quest system at launch either. This was because the team is in “full-focus” to get the Quest version ready for release and are trying to ensure the base game is optimized for the platform first. However, Vertigo Games did confirm that the DLC would come to the Quest “in the following month” with release dates to be announced “ASAP.”
Lastly, the Quest version also won’t support cross-play across different platforms for co-op modes. “Again, due to the nature of it being rebuilt from the ground up, the Quest version is not compatible with the other VR platforms.”
