The Biggest HTC Vive Releases Of The Week 09/10/17

A healthy week of Vive releases awaits. There’s a lot of diversity in this week’s launches, showcasing the variety you can enjoy in VR right now.

In the meantime, if you missed the previous iteration of this list, you can see those new releases here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR.

We also have a top list of the absolute best HTC Vive games — which is updated every few months with the latest and greatest options.

The Big Releases

Duck Season, from Stress Level Zero
Price: $19.99

The developers of Hover Junkers return with this throwback to an all-time gaming classic. Step into the (unofficial) world of Duck Hunt for yourself and blast away, but also explore the world outside of your TV, with a hint of horror that will be sure to delight fans of shows like Stranger Things and more.

Recommendation: Something any Rift/Vive owner should check out.

MasterpieceVR, from Brinx Software
Price: $29.99

Another new way to get creating within VR. MasterpieceVR allows you to create highly detailed 3D models that you can then use as assets in other experiences. It’s a professional application that allows for accessible creation and collaboration.

Recommendation: For those that want to go beyond Tilt Brush.

Bloody Zombies, from Paw Print Games
Price: $14.99

Classic beat ’em ups get their VR debut with this 2D co-op brawler. Take to the streets of London in the zombie apocalypse and punch your way through hordes of the undead. While one player can put on a VR headset, others can grab a controller and play on the traditional screen for some local co-op action.

Recommendation: For fans of a classic genre.

Manifest 99, from Project Flight School
Price: $5.99

This short, sweet VR experience is a surreal journey into the afterlife in which you follow the lives of a group of characters and explore their histories. It’s a strangely disturbing and yet deeply moving piece that explores the use of gaze-based interaction in exciting new ways and leaves a mark.

Recommendation: If you’re interested in VR storytelling don’t miss this.

Floor Plan: Hands-On Edition, from Turbo Button
Price: $5.99 (Rift, currently discounted)

Turbo Button brings its quirky puzzler over to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive with new hand controls. Explore several whacky environments as you travel from floor to floor in an elevator, meeting fantastical characters in point-and-click style gameplay.

Recommendation: For fans of slapstick gaming.
