The Biggest HTC Vive Releases Of The Week 10/15/17

A whole bunch of big VR releases are available this week, with some long awaited arrivals. Time to dive in!

If you missed the previous iteration of this list, you can see those new releases here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR.

We also have a top list of the absolute best HTC Vive games — which is updated every few months with the latest and greatest options.

The Big Releases

The Gallery – Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone
Price: $29.99

The Gallery finally returns with its second episode. Resume the hunt for your sister, Elsie, as you travel to an entirely new world and learn the past of the villainous Sebastian. Meet strange creatures and solve intuitive puzzles as you search for answers that started all the way back at the launch of the HTC Vive.

Recommendation: Absolutely pick this up. We loved it.

Skyworld, from Vertigo Games
Price: $39.99

The developers of Arizona Sunshine return with an entirely new game. Skyworld is a blend of real and turn-based strategy set in a tabletop world. Command units in toy-themed wars using your motion controllers. A full single-player campaign is bolstered by expansive online options, too.

Recommendation: Our review’s not ready just yet, but it’s looking promising.

The Talos Principle VR, from Croteam
Price: $39.99

The Serious Sam studio releases its fourth (!) VR game in this VR port of its popular puzzler. Awaken in a mysterious garden and set about solving vrious trials at the request of a mysterious figure claiming to be your creator. The game features full support for VR motion controllers and DLC is included too.

Recommendation: We haven’t reviewed it yet but given the developer’s pedigree and reception to the original game, it’s looking good.

Overturn, from StudioHG
Price: $29.99

This is a cyberpunk shooter that mixes intense action with some puzzling elements. You find yourself in a laboratory with no memory of who you are and how you got there, but it’s up to you to get out and maybe even find others like you. It looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Recommendation: Certainly the best pick for shooter fans this week.

Organ Quarter, from Outer Brain Studios
Price: $24.99

A promising new horror game inspired by the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Explore a seemingly abandoned urban environment and take on horrific enemies with limited ammo. There’s puzzle elements too, and a story that promises to leave a mark this Halloween.

Recommendation: The pick of the week for VR horror games.

Taphouse VR, from Catland
Price: Free

The early access release of a new type of VR game in which you play as a bartender. Mix and match drinks to look like a pro, but make sure you don’t get orders wrong and make customers unhappy.

Recommendation: Looks like some harmless VR fun.
