The Biggest Oculus Rift And Gear VR Releases Of The Week 10/01/17

The Biggest Oculus Rift And Gear VR Releases Of The Week 10/01/17

It’s a pretty empty week for Oculus Rift and Gear VR, though two big releases more than make up for it. If you’re into slick shooters with great production values then you’ve got two great choices this week. If you want something else, well it’s a bit barren, I’m afraid.

If you missed the previous entry of this list you can see those new releases here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in VR.

Plus — check out our list of the best Oculus Rift games and best Gear VR games for more suggestions!

The Big Releases

Raw Data, from Survios
Price: $39.99 (Rift, currently discounted)

A long in pre-release wave shooter finally gets its full launch. Raw Data offers 10 missions in which you choose between one or four classes, each sporting their own unique weapons, and face down with hordes of incoming robots. Special powers add to the excitment and cooperative and competitive multiplayer options add to the package.

Recommendation: One of the best wave shooters going, but still a wave shooter.

Dead Effect 2 VR, from BadFly Interactive
Price: $24.99 (Rift)

Another Early Access game getting a full release. Dead Effect 2 VR ports the original PC release into Rift and Vive to make for one of the most complete survival horror experiences on either headset. Make your way through a zombie-infested space ship, fighting back monsters and upgrading your abilities.

Recommendation: Definitely one for shooter fans.

Hangry Bunnies from Mars, from Studio229
Price: $5.99 (Rift)

Incase you missed it last week – another wave shooter, this time with a slapstick twist. Hangry Bunnies is an arcade-inspired action game where you take down waves of incoming rabbits, though they’re far from adroable. Use inventive weaponry to blow your enemies into pieces and then struggle with the resulting trauma.

Recommendation: For those that enjoy the sillier side of VR.
