The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 01/21/17

If you’ve been starved for content so far in 2018 then good news; the content drought ends here. This week is packed full with interesting VR experiences you should be checking out.

If you missed last week’s releases, they’re right here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

OrbusVR, from Orbus Online
Price: $39.99 (Rift)

Another stab at the fabled VR MMO. OrbusVR features a massive world to explore within VR, combat mechanics with a bow and arrow, spells and big monsters. Team up with your friends and take on quests together.

A Handful of Keflings, from NinjaBee
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

A cutesy little town builder in which you help little Keflings build up a life, harvesting and refining resources. This is a relaxed kind of experience with over 50 kinds of buildings to make for those that love town-planners. Something different, at the very least.

End Space, from Justin Wasilenko
Price: $19.99 (Rift)

The Gear VR space combat game finally makes its way to the Oculus Rift this week after launching on PSVR previously. In End Space you can take flight and do battle with waves of enemies while completing missions. If you’re a fan of EVE: Valkyrie but prefer single-player games then this is absolutely one for you.

Subnautica, from Unknown Worlds Entertainment
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)

The longtime Early Access game finally gets its full release this week. Subnautica is a huge underwater adventure in which you explore an alien ocean world, uncovering fantastical beasts and mysterious civilizations. If you’re looking for a veritable “full” VR experience with tons of stuff to do and see, then this fits the bill very nicely.

The Perfect Sniper, from Sinn Studio
Price: $16.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

Think you’ve got what it takes to become the perfect sniper? Then grab your headset and jump inside this hitman simulator. The game includes a full story mode with different scenarios in which you must execute high profile targets from the safety of a sniper’s nest, though things won’t always go your way.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them VR Experience, from FrameStore
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive)

JK Rowling’s Harry Potter universe comes to VR with a tie-in app to the new film series. This released on Daydream a while back and we weren’t too impressed with it. Sadly it looks like this new expanded edition with more monsters isn’t that much better, but it’s the closest you’ll get to casting spells at Hogwarts right now.

Nemesis Realms, from Evocat Games
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

Now in Early Access, Nemesis Realms is one of those games that explores the very interesting area of local VR play. One player puts on a headset and serves as a boss that other players with controllers have to try and take down. It’s a really cool idea, that’s reminiscent of the Godzilla-esque game in Playroom VR.
