The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/28/18

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/28/18

While not the biggest of weeks there’s plenty to check out on your PC VR headset today. We’ve got a feeling most of you will be dropping money on at least some of the content headed your way this week.

If you missed last week’s releases, they’re right here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

Cold Iron, from Catch & Release
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

Head back to the old west in this new puzzle shooter that has you using limited ammo to take out targets that appear in specified orders. You’ll need to think and act fast to become the fastest gun in the west (and elsewhere). Since Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed this week, this might be the best opportunity to put your cowboy hat on for some time.

Battle of Kings VR, from Wenkly Studio
Price:$9.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

This is a pretty sharp-looking tower defense game with bright environments. Defend your kingdom with an assortment of towers, bringing armies to their knees. It might not be the most important use of VR to date, but it should be fun nevertheless.

VR Regatta, from MarineVerse
Price: $14.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

We haven’t seen many (if any) sailing games for VR yet and VR Regatta looks like it could fill the void quite nicely. In this idyllic experience, you explore the Akalana Islands at sunset, completing challenges and progressing your career using realistic controls to handle the boat. It looks pretty authentic but promises to cater to both pros and novices.

In Death, from Solfar Studios
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

The developers of Everest VR return with their first true VR game, now in Early Access. In Death brings bow combat to your headset with roguelike elements including procedurally generated levels and randomized enemies. Expect more content to get added throughout the year as it makes its way towards a full release.
