This is one of the driest weeks we’ve had in recent memory for PC-based VR. There isn’t anything new that we can tell from on the Windows Store (you can’t sort the VR section at all!) and both Oculus Home and SteamVR are lackluster. Nevertheless, we’ve highlighted a few key projects worth taking a look at. Make sure and check Steam and Oculus Home for more new releases.
And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.
The Big Releases
Karnage Chronicles, from Nordic Trolls (Early Access)
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)
Dungeon crawlers just feel right at home in VR. Despite the medieval-esque aesthetic, the act of assuming the role of a dungeon delver on a quest for epic loot and defeating frightening beasts is wish of RPG fans around the world. Karnage Chronicles (Oculus Home and Steam) lets you take a few friends with you on the journey, too.

Skytropolis, from Mythical City Games
Price: $24.99 (Currently Discounted)
City-building games have been around since what feels like the dawn of time, so it’s long overdue that VR gets something new that scratches that itch a bit. Skytropolis is all about your mission to build the world’s first vertical megacity. Basically a giant skyscraper with an entire city inside of it.
A Haunting: Witching Hour, from Enyx Studios (Early Access)
Price: $4.99
Earlier this week we all celebrated Halloween, so of course there was going to be a horror game on this list. A Haunting: Witching Hour has been around for a little while but is now finally hitting early access on Steam for those brave enough to give it a try.
