2K: Borderlands 2 VR Valve Index Support Listing 'Was A Mistake'

2K confirmed Borderlands 2 VR on PC mistakenly listed Valve Index support.

The Steam store page for Borderlands 2 VR displayed Valve’s Index headset as a supported platform yesterday at launch, but now just the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are listed.

We reached out yesterday and 2K confirmed today this was a mistake. Borderlands 2 for PC VR listed in its announcement Rift and HTC Vive as supported platforms , and we wondered whether support for Valve Index would arrive before launch as well. We were happily surprised, then, when the Index was listed as a supported platform when the PC VR version of the game launched yesterday. We  soon launched the app on an Index, however, and saw Vive wands displayed instead of Index controllers, causing instant confusion.

An update today to the Steam discussions page for the game provides the following official statement:

Hi everyone, it has come to our attention that the Valve Index was briefly listed as a supported headset on Borderlands 2 VR’s product page. Unfortunately, this was a mistake. The Index is *not* supported at this time, and the Borderlands 2 VR’s metadata has been corrected.

Please contact 2K’s customer support team here with any questions.

We also asked whether the Vive Cosmos will be supported for the game and will update this post if we hear back. At the time of this writing Steam counts 140 reviews for Borderlands 2 VR, resulting in a “mixed” verdict. If you’ve purchased the game please share in the comments how it is working out for you.
