Since Sony just announced a bunch of new PSVR games at both Paris Games Week and the PlayStation Experience only a few weeks ago, we don’t expect there to be a whole lot of PSVR-related content at their CES 2018 press conference. Keep in mind that this is a Sony press conference and not just a PlayStation press conference. That being said, they’ve been known to drop a few surprises here and there in the past.
At the top of our wishlist for unlikely announcements would be a real update to the best-selling PSVR headset by way of improved optics, better tracking, or even just new motion controllers, but all of those things seem too big for a show like CES. Sony typically likes to save its gaming-focused announcements for E3 in June.
You can forgive the blind speculation because Sony isn’t exactly doing us any favors in terms of dropping hints. The only thing that their website says is that they will launch “exciting new products” which is tantamount to saying they’ll show “exciting new trailers” at E3. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly what’s in store with reserved anticipation.
Nevertheless you can watch the full CES 2018 press conference, starting at 5PM PT, live from the Las Vegas Convention Center right here on the official Sony website.
