Originally announced earlier in the year, the Justice League VR experience is now finally available to play at IMAX Centers around the US and Canada.
The VR experience, which stars DC’s flagship superheroes and promotes their recently-released movie, is now available at IMAX’s VR centers in LA, New York and the newly-opened Toronto station. Check out the trailer for it below.
As the footage shows you, the Justice League VR app allows you to play as Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman in their own minigames. Batman races the Batmobile, Wonder Woman fights waves of enemies with a sword and shield, The Flash speeds down a subway to stop a bomb, Cyborg fends of baddies with guns, and Aquaman chases after a giant fish, all played inside the HTC Vive. You might notice that there’s a spot missing for Superman, which could perhaps be filled in the coming weeks.
At the IMAX Centers you’ll be given a certain amount of time to play the experience but, don’t worry, there are plans for a home release too. In fact, you can already play a drastically scaled-down version of the experience for free on Google Cardboard (which I found to be shockingly not terrible). Past that, this experience is coming to the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR in December.
Next up, there’s a full VR experience for the 2018 Aquaman movie on the way, and a third piece based on an unrevealed property coming too.
