One of the very first PC VR games is getting a sequel, and it’s coming to Oculus Quest.
Cloudlands 2 is coming to the standalone headset in the near future. Developer Futuretown recently confirmed as much on Facebook. The original Cloudlands: VR Minigolf was, well, exactly what it sounds like. You took on a variety of courses, taking full advantage of VR’s motion controls. It was simple, but an effective demonstration of VR’s early potential.
We’re happy to share this great news with you, Cloudlands 2 is coming soon on Oculus Quest! Are you excited? Cuz we are!??

Not too much is known about the sequel, but we’d expect more of the same at the very least. Judging by the handful of images that have been shared so far, the game appears to have gone for a slightly simplified art style. This could be to help the game fit onto Quest’s mobile hardware. Either way, it still looks vibrant.
Cloudlands got a bunch of updates over the course of its life, adding in big features like a course editor and online multiplayer. If the sequel launches with things like these on day one, it’ll definitely be worth checking out.
Interestingly, Cloudlands 2 appears to be Futuretown’s first genuinely new game since the launch of PC VR devices in 2016. The studio says the game is coming soon, but no full release dates have been announced. It’s also not clear if the game will come to other VR headsets or if it’s a Quest exclusive.
