Coatsink's Esper Finally Gets Touch Controls

One of VR’s full gaming experiences and its sequel just got a long-awaited update.

Esper: The Collection, a bundle that includes developer Coatsink’s two puzzle games for the Oculus Rift (both of which first appeared on Gear VR), this week got an update adding full Oculus Touch support to the game. Previously both games used simple input options with a gamepad, but now Oculus’ motion controllers allow you to point towards objects to select them then manipulate them with the controller’s analog sticks.

In Esper, you play as a telekinetic agent that solves a series of puzzles. While the first game takes place within one room, the second expands into a larger adventure with multiple environments and voice acting from stars like Nick Frost.

To celebrate the launch, Coatsink has slashed $5 off the price of the game, taking it to $9.99 for a limited time. If you want to see a slice of VR history (Esper was among the very first games to be released on the original Gear VR), now’s your chance.

Next up, Coatsink is working with Viral developer Fierce Kaiju on an unannounced VR game we’ll hopefully see later this year.
