It’s here! As we promised last week, the first episode of The VR Culture Show airs today!
We couldn’t be more excited to bring you this project. It’s something we’ve been working on for a long time. Yes, we love games, but VR is doing so much more beyond those realms. For a long time we’ve been talking about how best to cover that stuff and we’re hoping it’s this; a new show bringing groundbreaking VR straight to your screens.
Episode 1 will premiere right here at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm BST today. Make sure to sign up to be alerted below.
For our first episode you’re in for a treat. Last month’s Raindance Film Festival brought some of the best in immersive storytelling to London. Your gracious hosts, Jamie and Zeena, went along to check out just a few of the experiences on offer. We found some really excellent stuff, including the ferocious Battlescar, a searing VR animation you won’t want to miss.
We also speak to Samantha Kingston about her deeply personal VR debut, Anonymous, in which she shares a biting monologue between herself and her late mother. Elsewhere there’s theater to drink in with a trip to see A Box In The Desert, an award-winning meditation on trust and belief. Finally, we stroll down the catwalk in See, Saw, Seen, a compelling piece that flips the script on the traditional fashion show.
We really hope you enjoy the show. Be sure to let us know what you think and if you have any tips for next time. Also don’t forget that we’re also launching a new VR podcast and bringing back the VR showcase in the near future. Check the trailer below.
