In celebration of Shark Week 2017, educational technology company Curiscope unveiled a teaser for their upcoming VR adventure, Operation Apex, which is the latest project to be published by Vive Studios.
Scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2017, Operation Apex is a room-scale VR follow-up to Curiscope’s 360° YouTube video, Great White Sharks, which has nearly 22 million views. “Only a handful of people get to experience diving in the deep-sea and study marine life first hand. Operation Apex enables you to interact with sharks and many other elusive creatures that are rarely seen outside of their natural habitats. What’s more, the sharks in Operation Apex have the ability to react to your presence, and we can’t wait to reveal more about the algorithms that power them,” said the company in a blog post announcing the teaser.
There’s not much else to go on right now, but we’re looking forward to seeing the final product.
In addition to their VR offerings, Curisocope also produces an educational mixed reality T-shirt called Virtuali-Tee. With the accompanying app, users can see rendered 3D organs “inside” the person wearing the T-shirt.
