Daily VR Sketch: Yooka-Laylee

by Jamie Feltham • April 11th, 2017

Welcome to the Daily Sketch! We’ve teamed up with Sketchfab and expert VR artist Elizabeth Edwards to produce one new piece of 3D art per weekday throughout April you can view with your VR kit.

So grab your headset and take a look.

Ah the 90’s. Britpop, Grunge, Friends and, of, course, 3D platformers. From Super Mario 64 to Crash Bandicoot, this was an era where the mascot truly ruled the videogame landscape, and few developers created memorable characters like Rare. Banjo-Kazooie remains a fan favorite game even two decades on, and it shows with this week’s release of Yooka-Laylee. This nostalgic platformer from former members of Rare keeps the genre alive with a fitting love letter for fans that has them hopping over chasms and hunting down every last collectible. For the truly authentic experience, grow your hair and put on Smells Like Teen Spirit before playing.

Would like this as a VR game. Lucky’s Tale was much better than I thought it would be.
