Dead Effect 2 VR Gets New Campaign Missions, Co-Op + PVP Modes

Few would have predicted that BadFly Interactive’s Dead Effect 2 would make for a great VR port, which made the Early Access release such a pleasant surprise when it launched last month. Obviously, though, we wanted more, and now we’re getting it.

Dead Effect 2 VR‘s 1.2 update is now live and it adds five more of the original game’s story missions to the campaign. Previously there had only been just a handful of levels on offer, giving you just a taste of the sci-fi horror experience in which you find yourself on a derelict ship and must battle hordes of zombified enemies to survive. But that’s far from all that’s new here.

BadFly has also added a cooperative multiplayer option, available to those that have beaten the first two missions of the campaign. It allows players to team up using pre-existing levels to take on enemies. There’s also a competitive PVP multiplayer mode, though, with standard deathmatch and team deathmatch options. The game’s already becoming feature-rich, but it still remains in Early Access for now.

Elsewhere the player character’s level cap has increased to 15 and BadFly has added a host of other tweaks and improvements like a new VR calibration option and a bunch of bug fixes.

BadFly isn’t putting a release window on the full version of the game just yet, although it does plan to readjust pricing for it. It might be an idea to pick up the game in its pre-release state, then, as it’s already a lot of fun to play. It costs $19.99 as it.
