Location-based VR company Dreamscape Immersive is now offering a new experience that ties into the DreamWorks Dragons series, which began with the How To Train Your Dragon movie in 2010.
The project, titled Dragons: Flight Academy, will see you flying on the back of a dragon in VR alongside up to 8 others.
The experience is available to book now up until the beginning of January, priced at $20 per ticket. During peak hours, slots are available to book the experience every 20 minutes and guests are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the listed booking time.
Dreamscape says Dragons: Flight Academy will last approximately 35 minutes, however, this does include check-in and gearing up and down. Dragons: Flight Academy is one of several “adventures” on offer at Dreamscape locations. The company also announced a Men In Black experience recently but there aren’t any ticketing details yet. We’ve tried out several of Dreamscape’s experiences, including The Blu: Deep Rescue, and left very impressed.
There are currently only two Dreamscape locations – the first location in Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, and a newer location at NorthPark Center in Dallas. They typically use a combination of well-executed haptic effects combined with walk-around freedom to impress visitors.
Earlier this year, separate from Dreamscape, a brief How To Train Your Dragon VR experience was offered at various Wal-Mart parking lots around the country.
Have you tried any of the existing Dreamscape experiences, or will you be trying out Dragons soon? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Correction: An earlier version of this post had incorrect information about Men In Black tickets. It is now correct.
