Firewall Ultra received a new developer walkthrough trailer, but we're no closer to learning a release date.
During the Future Games Show, First Contact Entertainment released a Firewall Ultra developer presentation trailer hosted by Community Manager, Frank Marm.
"We've taken full advantage of the hardware, utilizing eye tracking, haptics in both the controllers and headset, trigger resistance," he confirms, outlining Ultra's core mechanics. However, this trailer didn't include any new gameplay footage and Marm didn't provide a specific release window beyond 2023.
Considering Firewall Ultra is currently the only publicly confirmed Sony-published PSVR 2 game in development, it's surprising Sony chose the Future Game Show for this over last month's PlayStation Showcase. While we didn't get further news then, that presentation provided new information about Resident Evil 4 Remake, Synapse, Arizona Sunshine 2 and Beat Saber.
Elsewhere during the Future Games Show, the VR Spotlight segment revealed further details on upcoming VR games. Alongside new trailers for C-Smash VRS and MADiSON VR, Perp Games revealed that VR Skater joins Pico alongside PSVR 2 "later this year," while Aardman released a brief trailer for Wallace and Gromit in the Grand Getaway on Quest 2.
Firewall Ultra arrives exclusively on PSVR 2 in 2023, with a manual reloading update promised post-launch. Until then, you can read our hands-on impressions and interview with First Contact Entertainment below to learn more:
