First Resident Evil 7: Not A Hero DLC Gameplay Promises Explosions And Punching

Hungry for more Resident Evil 7 VR? We are too, and its new DLC looks very promising.

When Capcom’s survival horror game debuted last January, it promised a surprise follow-up DLC called Not A Hero. Players would assume the role of series hero Chris Redfield in an expansion that looked like it could be more action-packed than the horror-focused original. Well, based on this first gameplay that certainly looks like the case; there are guns galore in this three-minute clip.

The footage sees Chris exploring the game’s mines, which we only briefly visited as Ethan in the original. This time, though, Chris is overwhelmed with monsters to fight. Fortunately it looks like he has the firepower to stave them off; we see grenades, pistols and rifles all used to good effect here. Chris even has a new UI compared to Ethan’s minimalistic approach, which we’ll be excited to see working in VR.

Not A Hero is releasing on 12th December and PlayStation 4 owners will be able to play it in PlayStation VR (PSVR). Best of all? It’s completely free. The original game is one of the best VR titles of the year on any platform, so we’re ready to see more of it.

The game will also be getting a Gold Edition on the same day with another new campaign called End of Zoe, which will also be available in VR, as well as previously-released DLC. Basically, it looks like the biggest release for PSVR this year past Resident Evil 7 is… more Resident Evil 7.
