Gran Turismo Sport isn’t sounding like the fully featured VR experience we were hoping for, but this new trailer for the game still promises a thrilling experience.
This brief new look at the latest addition to Sony’s racing simulation series is our first official look at the PSVR support. It features members of the GT Academy initiative and professional drivers talking about their experience with the headset, complete with plenty of gameplay clips that look gorgeous.
Sadly, the game’s VR support is somewhat limited. Developer Polyphony Digital has confirmed that Gran Turismo Sport only offers a one-on-one racing mode in VR, though players should be able to choose any car to drive in. Even series creator Kazunori Yamauchi seems a little disappointed in it. We were hoping to have the entire game to play through with our headsets, but we’ll hopefully get a great experience all the same.
Gran Turismo Sport is due for release on October 17th.
