HTC is eager to push VR beyond the realms of gaming and into industries as soon as possible. To that end, the company recently gathered 20 mayors from across the US to show them what its HTC Vive can do for city planning.
During this year’s South by South West (SXSW) show HTC held an event in which Mayors from cities like Albuquerque, West Sacramento, and the festival’s own home of Austin. They were shown an app from Salesforce that offered an accurate 3D map of San Francisco that they could explore. Going beyond that, this tool could be used to help city planning and management in the future. It sounds crazy but, as you can see in the video below, people seem impressed with it.
