Square Enix have released the second part of the Kingdom Hearts VR experience, exclusive to the PSVR.
When we first wrote about the Kingdom Hearts VR Experience earlier this year, we wrote about how weird it felt. It’s a free app so you can’t expect too much, but the characters seemed a bit lifeless and it clearly didn’t have a big budget based on the production quality. From what we’ve seen, this second part falls into the same camp again.
Judging from the teaser images released today by the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, you’ll be able to visit new stages like Twilight Town and hang out with Axel while sharing the iconic sea salt ice cream bar. That’s some pretty spot-on fan service that at least understands the target audience well.
The World Select menu now lists Destiny Island, Gummi Ship, Castle Oblivion, and more. You’ll even get to visit the Olympus Coliseum, which is prominently featured in just about every major Kingdom Hearts title to date. Even if it’s far from being a fully-fledged Kingdom Hearts VR game, getting to wield a keyblade in VR is still pretty neat for zero cost.
