The first series of StartUp may not have been warmly received, but its creators are hoping to kick the second season off with a bang with a new experience for Sony’s PlayStation VR (PSVR).
StartUp is an online show airing on Crackle, Sony’s free to use streaming service. It stars Martin Freeman and Ron Pearlman (who debuts this season) and focuses on a group of criminals running an empire. The second season debuts on September 28th and the VR experience will arrive later this fall on PS4 and other platforms.
We don’t know exactly what to expect from the VR tie-in, though it will apparently be an interactive piece. It’s not the first time Sony has utilized PSVR to promote its Crackle shows; earlier this year we reported that the Snatch TV series starring Rupert Grint was also getting a tie-in, which Sony has been showcasing at recent events.
