Minigolf might not be the best term to apply to Moonshot Galaxy. Yes, this upcoming PlayStation VR (PSVR) game has you trying to sink a ball into a whole in as few shots as possible, but it’s anything but mini.
As the name suggests, Moonshot Galaxy takes place over multiple planets. It looks a little like Super Mario Galaxy mixed with Mario Golf, which is a very promising combination. Gear VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift fans might recognize it; it was released on Oculus Home and Steam as Galaxy Golf last year, but since changed its name. Taking to Reddit, developer Liftoff Labs — an internal studio at Big Fish Games — explained that it was the game isn’t exactly like traditional golf, as you can see in the launch trailer below.
“We’re just now clearing the last hurdle with Sony’s QA, and if all goes well this week then it will launch next Tuesday, May 9,” the developer said.
Hopefully all goes well indeed, then.
