Moss Debuts In PS Store Charts, Apex Construct, Knockout League And More Absent

The PlayStation Store charts for February are in, and Polyarc’s fantastic exclusive, Moss, seems to have performed pretty well.

On the European version of the Store, Moss came in second place, while it ended up in seventh in the US. While this might seem lower than you’d expect for a critically acclaimed release, it’s important to point out that the US hosted a huge sale on PSVR games this month, including titles like Superhot VR and Doom VFR, which is why many older games charted above the new third-person adventure. In the EU, Surgeon Simulator came out on top, which was also on sale during the month. Another February release, Sprint Vector, came in at 7th on the EU charts and 9th in the US.

As always, these charts don’t reveal specific sales figures but do give us a pretty good idea of how games have performed, especially when games like Moss and Sprint Vector are only available digitally and not physically.

Apex Construct, the debut VR title from Fast Travel Games, is surprisingly nowhere to be found in either chart. Given that the game offered what many PSVR gamers have been asking for — a full single-player adventure with smooth locomotion — its omission from the list is unexpected. Again, though, it’s likely that sales on older VR games affected the game’s position in the charts. The same is true of Grab Games’ excellent Knockout League (though it only launched today in the EU) and Secret Location’s Blasters of the Universe, which launched the same day as Moss.

March sees some big releases for PSVR including the just-launched Bravo Team. How will the charts shape up a month from now?
