Neko Atsume, the international phenomenon that captivated cat-lovers around the world, is getting a PlayStation VR (PSVR) adaptation next year in 2018. We know absolutely nothing about the title other than it’s coming and it has a logo, so details are scarce.
Sony revealed Neko Atsume VR this week at the 2017 Tokyo Game Show (TGS) during the PSVR segment of its presentation, along with other upcoming VR titles like Bravo Team, The Inpatient, and more.
In the mobile game users take care of cats by feeding them, playing with them, and generally just tapping around and marveling at all the cute kitties. Slowly and gradually you will amass a small army of feline companions. It’s the type of game that revels in its aimless adorable qualities and asks users to frequently check in on their cats to see what they’re up to. Sort of like a modern day Tamagotchi.
How this is going to translate to an immersive VR game for console gamers remains to be seen, but chances are it will gain a strong audience on the name recognition alone.
