There are some really interesting non-gaming applications releasing this week. If you’re only about games then there’s a few things for you, but we’d still recommend giving some of these more experimental pieces a shot too.

Guided Meditation, from Cubicle Ninjas
Price: $14.99 (currently discounted)
Perhaps the best example of a VR meditation and relaxation app thus far, Guided Meditation jumps from Gear and DK2 to Vive with more environments, room scale support and plenty of stunning views for your headset.
Recommendation: If you see VR as a stress reliever, this is for you.

The Body VR, from The Body VR
Price: Free
A great example of what educational VR can do. The Body VR allows players to travel into the human body and explore different areas, from blood streams to the molecules that keep us up and running.
Recommendation: Definitely worth it for those interested in educational VR
Lop Nor Zombie
Price: $0.99
First of all, this developer’s name is written in Mandarin, so we didn’t include it. Anyway, Lop Nor Zombie is yet another zombie shooter, though it does differentiate itself by adding free movement as you walk down a dank alley.
Recommendation: Cheap enough to warrant a look.
Basketball Babe, from VACTOR
Price: $19.99
May we be the first to say: Ew. Basket Ball babe is a simplistic basketball shooting game that the developer seems to think is worth $19.99 simple because it’s got a girl with underboob. Us adults are alright, thanks.
Recommendation: Avoid like the plague.
Fast Action Hero, from Sirius Sam
Price: $14.99 (currently discounted)
Sadly not a sequel to the Arnie movie. Instead, this is a straight up room-scale FPS that has an air of a Michael Mann movie too it. Use gadgets to track incoming enemy positions and hold your ground. Most interestingly? It’s co-op.
Recommendation: An early access release for now, so maybe wait for the full game.
Hat Trick Header, from no-act
Price: $9.99 (currently discounted)
I wouldn’t have guessed that Frame’s Headmaster would have been the most imitated VR games, though it’s kind of obvious when you think about it. This is another stab at bringing the game’s header mechanic to another headset.
Recommendation: Only if you’re not picking up a PS VR next week.

Bridge to Nowhere, from Peter Labick
Price: Free
The earliest VR demos put you on top of a tall building and asked you to take a step off. Few can do it. Since then VR has evolved, meaning Bridge to Nowhere is somewhat stuck in the past. You can live without this one.
Recommendation: Pass.
Alone VR, from Deceptive Games
Price: $14.99 (currently discounted)
An early access release for a new indie horror game. Explore creepy locations in search of your missing sister. Choices effect your ending and that game promises to try its hardest to scare the life out of you.
Recommendation: For horror fans only.

Lumen, from Framestore
Price: $4.99
Another relaxation experience, this time fueled by the new Life VR initiative. It’s a non-linear experience created with the help of Standford University scientists. Explore a picturesque forest in short bursts.
Recommendation: While undeniably high quality, Guided Meditation offers more.
Faceted Flight, from The Department of Silly Stuff
Price: $6.99
We once called this a mix of Star Fox and VR, and that’s something that should get you interested. Fly through rings as fast as possible or simply enjoy a relaxing flight around colorful environments in this early access release.
Recommendation: This is one you should check out.

Dimensional Intersection, from Nicalis
Price: $4.99
A new music visualizer for Vive with its own tracks from artists like Soulacybin, Land Switcher and MONS. I don’t know if these people/bands are popular but I’m also not the type of person that would know.
Recommendation: Something to check out for music fans.

Chicken Chase, from VKTRY Creative Studios
Price: $2.99
Yep, you really do chase chickens in this one. I won’t lie to you; I think this actually sounds like a pretty cooky idea (sorry, sorry). Use room-scale to dart about, seizing the flustered birds and earning a high score.
Recommendation: If you want to support original ideas, no matter how silly, go for it.
Anyland, from Scott Lowe and Philipp Lenssen
Price: $11.99
An intriguing take on the VR universe builder. Anyland is a multiplayer venue that lets you build things with friends, watch videos or just hang out. It’s essentially dropped you into a space and letting you think up things to do with all the possibilities of VR.
Recommendation: Definitely worth a look.
Airship Commander, from CBL Industries
Price: $9.99
Okay, this looks cool. Take part in huge battles on massive airships, firing side-mounted cannons and more in aerial battles. It’s inspired by the likes of Wing Commander but offers an incredible scale.
Recommendation: This might be the rare early access game worth getting in on.
Supa Killa Monsta Hunta, from Tadej Fius
Price: $4.99
Sadly this is not VR’s first take on the boss hunting genre. Instead, it’s a pretty primitive-looking labyrinth navigation game in which you use lots of different weapons to defeat discovered enemies. It’s a nice idea but needs polish.
Recommendation: Only if the early access campaign sees improvement.
World of Golf, from Krazy Studios
Price: $14.99 (currently discounted)
Golf is surprisingly under represented in VR right now, but that doesn’t mean you should jump at the chance to play it here. World of Golf only has one full course of 18 holes, which feels pretty limited considering all you could have.
Recommendation: Only if more features arrive.
