Well Oculus users, there’s not a whole lot to pick from this week — especially on Oculus Home with nothing more than a handful of Gear VR titles. Luckily there’s always Steam to keep the flow of new stuff coming in. April just started though, so we know there is good stuff on the horizon, at least from Oculus Studios. Just keep shredding away on Rock Band VR in the meantime!
If you missed last week, you can see those new releases here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR.

New Gear VR Releases on Oculus Home
Winter Fury WWII, from 10th Reality
Price: $7.99 (Gear VR)
World War II shooters may have had their day in traditional gaming but VR doesn’t have too many to speak of. If you’re interested in the time period then Winter Fury may be worth a look, even if it only seems to be a fairly basic gallery shooter.
Recommendation: If you’re interested in the setting then it’s worth checking out.
Walk Man, from Florian Bernard
Price: $1.99 (Gear VR)
Of all the games that could be cloned for VR, I never expected Frogger to be so popular. But here we are. Walk Man is another game where you have to take great care in crossing the road, making sure not to get hit by cars, which I’m sure is a really pleasant experience inside of VR.
Recommendation: If you are Frogger’s biggest fan ever then have at it. Or just play Frogger. But really probably pass here.
Oculus Avatar Editor, from Oculus
Price: Free (Gear VR)
Oculus’ avatar system was introduced late last year, and already available on Rift, but this week it’s finally been made available on Gear too. You can swap out different hair styles, glasses and other features to create a look that suits you best for others to see in VR. Pretty cool.
Recommendation: Definitely check this one out.
Oogie, from BBC
Price: $2.99
A curious little VR game from the BBC that follows a small beetle on a perilous journey across the African desert. It’s being described as an “interactive documentary” and aims to get you closer than ever to one of nature’s most interesting little bugs.
Recommendation: If you love bugs and want to learn more about — or even be — one, then it’s worth a download. Otherwise, pass.
Rugby Kicks VR, from Distinctive Developments
Price: $2.99
Set out on the field, line up your kicks, and let ‘er rip. Pay attention to angles and wind speed to make sure your kicks sail true. There are lots of targets to hit and score points.
Recommendation: Really simple and there’s not much to it for a paid title. Pass.

Trickshot, from Dillon Lewin, Ryan Cunningham, Christopher Conklin, Nathan Lucci, Austin Lewis, Tim Stillmun
Price: $19.99
In this game, the classic platformer gets a new VR twist with some archery integration. Trickshot brings you ten levels where you’ll use special arrow types to explore and solve puzzles. The game also includes online and local leaderboards so you can test your mettle against others.
Recommendation: A true test of your dexterity with some unique ideas. Give this one a go.
MARS VR, from Ying Pei Digital Technology Shanghai Co., Limited
Price: $2.00 (Currently Discounted)
MARS VR is a sci-fi VR shooter with realistic physics for the weapons. You’ll hold the line within this dynamic and intense shooter, taking down a collection of different enemies and set of different scenes as you progress on-rails.
Recommendation: Not a bad price for a visually impressive shooter. Certainly worth the plunge.
Radiant Crusade, from Radiance Games
Price: $8.99 (Currently Discounted)
Radiant Crusade blends a couple styles together to bring a unique experience to VR. With wave defense and arena car combat elements, you’ll pilot your vehicle and utilize 4 abilities to take down as many enemies as you can. The game adds a bit of longevity by including a skill tree for players to advance through.
Recommendation: Vibrant and exciting with few comparisons. Give it a go.
SourVR Video Player Deluxe Edition, from River Twice Co., Ltd.
Price: $4.99 (Currently Discounted)
SourVR is a video player with automatic VR video format detection and support for many major formats. It also includes a weekly aggregation of online video content.
Recommendation: Pass on this.
A Lost Room, from Cruel Byte
Price: $7.99 (Currently Discounted)
A Lost Room drops you into what seems like a normal room as you solve puzzles and find items so that you can escape. It sounds like something sinister is slithering around outside the room too, so a few decisions need to be made.
Recommendation: Can be completed in roughly ten minutes, so not exactly the deepest option out there.
Diorama Worlds, from V.A.R. Studios
Price: $7.19 (Currently Discounted)
Using a growing collection of tiles and objects, Diorama Worlds gives you a platform to create and share your own unique dioramas. You can build with custom objects upon different layers and then let the creative juices flow freely.
Recommendation: Definitely check this out. Has a lot to offer in Early Access with even more to come.

Fort Awesome, from Ben McNelly
Price: $6.99
Love building forts in your home but hate the cleanup that comes after? Fort Awesome is here to help. Solo or with a friend, this game gives you a collection of different objects to build the fort or tree house of your dreams. The game includes a few hidden objectives as well.
Recommendation: For some casual fun with a dose of child-like energy, grab it.
Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter, from Croteam VR
Price: $29.99 (Currently Discounted)
Following up the Serious Sam VR drop from last week comes The Second Encounter, another old-school trek that provides a welcome and intense virtual shooter. Play single player, co-op, or competitive modes with a selection of comfort modes.
Recommendation: Pull the trigger for some old-school-style FPS fun. Lots of carnage.

Hopalong: The Badlands, from From The Future LLC
Price: $9.99
In Hopalong, you’ll ride a stick horse using one controller and shoot dastardly dudes with the other. Gallop around as you shoot down the Dynamite Gang and the pig-riding Boss Boomity. Take down the boss and you may find a way to earn his flying steed Pigasus!
Recommendation: Clever, unique, and silly fun.
All-Star Fielding Challenge VR, from 8-bit development llc
Price: $5.09 (Currently Discounted)
Put on your glove and hit the open field in All-Star Fielding Challenge VR. This game puts you in the role of a shortstop as you field line-drives, pop-ups, and ground balls. Once you catch enough you’ll move on to the next round and climb the leaderboards.
Recommendation: Currently in Early Access but could be promising. Keep an eye on it, but don’t pull the trigger just yet.

7VR Wonders, from VRMonkey
Price: $6.79 (Currently Discounted)
7VR Wonders is a visual feast that takes you around the world to virtual recreations of the wonders of the world. You’ll see the Statue of Zeus, the Hanging Gardens, Temple of Artemis, and more. Each experience lasts roughly 3 minutes.
Recommendation: There’s not much to it, but could be a decent add to your library to show off the visuals.
