After some new VR games in December 2023? We've rounded up our latest monthly highlights.
Following a stacked October with roughly 50 Quest 3 launch games, things didn't slow down with the holidays fast approaching. November saw an impressive slate with PowerWash Simulator VR, Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice, Demeo Battles, Pavlov Shack, Orbeats, Assassin's Creed Nexus, Ironstrike, Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior and many more.
We're not lacking for major releases this December and be sure to tune in for the further announcements at the UploadVR Winter Showcase 2023. That airs on December 6 at 10am PT. We'll update this list following the presentation and throughout the month, so keep this page bookmarked.
Right now, these are all the big upcoming VR games reaching Quest, PC VR, Pico and PSVR 2 in December 2023.
LOFI Katana - December 1 (PC VR, Quest)
Published by VRKiwi, LOFI Katana is a new VR rhythm game on Steam and App Lab that involves hitting shurikens with your katana and waving your fan to the beat. Alongside LIV integration for streaming, it includes an in-game procedural generation system that analyses songs to create custom levels. VRKiwi confirms a PSVR 2 port is also planned for Q2 2024.
ForeVR Pool - December 4 (PSVR 2)
Previously available on Quest and Steam, ForeVR Pool now makes its way to the PlayStation Store. Featuring 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and practice game modes, this comes with 50 different cues, five different halls, public and private multiplayer, solo AI matches and more.
Warplanes: Air Corp - December 4 (PC VR)
Warplanes: Air Corp marks the third VR entry in the series following WW1 Fighters and Battles Over Pacific. Moving away from historic wars to a modern-day setting, you can now pilot helicopters alongside fighter jets and "multirole" combat vehicles. We don't have a PC VR trailer but following a Quest launch in September, it's now reaching Steam.
Among Us VR - December 5 (Pico, PSVR 2)
Nearly a year since Among Us VR arrived on Quest and Steam, Schell Games now brings the social deduction game to Pico and PSVR 2 with cross-platform multiplayer.
Arashi: Castles of Sin - Final Cut - December 5 (PC VR, PSVR 2, Quest 2)
Once a PSVR exclusive, Skydance Interactive is releasing the remastered Arashi: Castles of Sin - Final Cut this month on most major VR platforms. You can read our Gamescom preview to learn more, where we called it an entertaining upgrade marred by last-gen hangovers.
Prison Boss - December 6 (PSVR 2)
In a surprise release, Prison Boss VR from TREBUCHET is now available on PSVR 2. That comes with Sense Controller haptic feedback support, eye tracking for menu selection and adaptive trigger support.
Arizona Sunshine 2 - December 7 (Quest, PC VR, Pico, PSVR 2)
Vertigo Games is capping off a busy year with Arizona Sunshine 2, which arrives two days earlier on PC VR and PSVR 2 if you pre-order the Deluxe Edition. Set one year after the original game, it includes full cross-platform multiplayer, two-player campaign co-op and an endless 2-4 player Horde mode. We gave it 5 stars in our review:
LEGO Bricktales VR - December 7 (Quest)
Developed by ClockStone and published by Thunderful, LEGO Bricktales was previously released on flatscreeen platforms and mobile last year. The premise sees you helping your grandfather restore his amusement park, traveling across different locations as you encounter characters needing assistance.
Wallace & Gromit in the Grand Getaway - December 7 (Quest)
Co-developed by Aardman, No Ghost and Atlas V (Madrid Noir), The Grand Getaway is an original story that sees the British duo stranded on Mars, joined by the golfing-themed Robo Caddy and AI assistant Beryl. Ancient Dungeon VR - December 8 (PSVR 2)
Ancient Dungeon marks another PSVR 2 port for a game previously released on Quest and Steam. Featuring voxel graphics reminiscent of Minecraft, Wwe previously called it "an excellent roguelike and a great example of how a solid foundation means you don’t need to break the mold." Resident Evil 4 Remake VR Mode - December 8 (PSVR 2)
Following on from Resident Evil Village in February, Resident Evil 4 Remake's VR Mode is next. Featuring 3D audio, haptic feedback through the Sense Controllers and a new first-person perspective, VR Mode covers Resident Evil 4's entire campaign. Vertigo 2 - December 12 (PSVR 2)
An action-adventure VR game from Zulubo Productions, Vertigo 2 sees you exploring the Quantum Reactor depths as you try to return home. Following a on PC VR release in March, it's now coming to PSVR 2. Our review of the PC VR release has more details.
Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 - December 14 (PC VR, PSVR 2)
Following last month's surprise PSVR 2 port for Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, the sequel now follows this December. Featuring six categories of minigames, Help Wanted 2 takes advantage of new PSVR 2 features like eye tracking and headset rumble. A flatscreen version will follow in Spring 2024.
Les Mills XR Dance - December 14 (Quest)
Les Mills XR Dance is a new fitness program on Quest. Featuring over 45 songs and over 25 dance routines, Odders Lab is partnering with EDM record label Monstercat for the soundtrack.
Neko Atsume Purrfect - December 14 (Quest)
Neko Atsume Purrfect brings cat collecting to VR once more, letting you pick up, hold, pet and treat these adorable cats across your own home. Alongside fully immersive environments, mixed reality support means you can place cat flaps across your room alongside other items like cat trees.
Not For Broadcast VR - December 14 (PSVR 2)
Released on PC VR and Quest in March, Not For Broadcast VR is a darkly comedic FMV adventure. Set in an alternate 1980s Great Britain where an authoritarian political party has taken power, and you control the news broadcast. We previously recommended tinyBuild's propaganda sim in our review, praising its "top-notch story" and dark humor.
Racket Club - December 14 (PC VR, Pico, Quest)
Offering a different approach to VR racket sports, Racket Club now makes its way to most major VR platforms this month. Featuring a career mode, online multiplayer and mixed reality support on Quest and Pico, Resolution Games has previously detailed the social mechanics and scoring systems.
Asgard's Wrath 2 - December 15 (Quest)
Four years after the original Asgard's Wrath appeared on Rift, Meta's biggest bet on AAA gaming yet finally arrives this month. We'll bring you our review soon and you can check out our hands-on preview to learn more. As a reminder, anyone who purchases a Quest 3 before January 27, 2024 will receive a free copy.
Towers & Powers - December 15 (PC VR, PSVR 2, Quest)
A VR tower defence game, Towers & Powers sees you saving islands and their residents from falling to the forces of chaos. That's coming to most major VR platforms and a Steam demo is available now.
Tales of the Aswang VR - December 20 (PC VR)
Developed by Paolo Villanueva, Tales of the Aswang is a VR game that "explores the myths and the epic creatures" of Filipino folklore, looking at books written by Maximo Ramos. "Walk and climb through the woods, solve puzzles, find artifacts, notes, and letters to unravel the magic world of the Aswang," states the Steam page.
Tiger Blade - December 20 (PSVR 2)
Influenced by Korean neo-noir cinema, Tiger Blade promises "stylish, adrenaline-soaked combat" as you play as an assassin working within the Tiger Clans. Across the streets of Sewoon, you're tasked with stealing a mysterious package and slashing your way through thugs. Previously announced for November, it's coming exclusively to PSVR 2 on December 22.
