Today during the keynote presentation at Oculus Connect 6 (OC6) in San Jose, CA, Facebook announced that the Oculus Rift-exclusive action adventure VR RPG, Asgard’s Wrath, from Sanzaru Games will be releasing this year on October, 10th 2019.
Asgard’s Wrath is a massive action adventure RPG built for VR by Sanzaru Games, the same studio behind Marvel Powers United VR, VR Sports Challenge, and Ripcoil. From what we’ve seen this is shaping up to be, by far, their biggest, most ambitious, and most polished game yet with a lot of promise.
In it you take control of a Norse God that is tasked with helping Loki collect ancient relics he needs for his latest conquest. In doing so you’ll switch back and forth between your massive, towering God form and various mortals that all have special powers. So far I’ve only played as the sword and shield-wielding warrior featured in most of the art work.
Luckily, that’s not far away at all. We should be getting access to the game very soon and will have a full review ready to go as soon as we’re permitted to talk about it. You can also expect to see us livestreaming the game as soon as the embargo on coverage lifts as well. Check out past livestreams in our YouTube playlist.
Previously we published 20-minutes of gameplay footage (embedded above) from a prior press event where I got to play three hours of the game, unguided, at my own pace and only just barely scratched the surface. In the past, Sanzaru has described Asgard’s Wrath as containing over 30 hours of content.
