OC6: New Quest Game 'In The Boneworks Universe' Coming 2020

Today during Oculus Connect 6 (OC6) Mike Verdu from the Oculus team revealed that Stress Level Zero is working on a new game in the Boneworks universe for Quest next year.

That’s really about all we know at this time. No other details regarding how it will differ, how it connects to Boneworks, or anything else are known, but based on the existing pedigree that alone makes it a title worth keeping on your radar.

We’ve already seen how impressive Quest games can look if given proper resources with examples from Red Matter and Vader Immortal, so hopefully this falls into that camp as well.

For those unaware about Boneworks, just watch this footage to get an idea for why people are so excited:

As you can tell, the physics interactions are simply fantastic. It features some of the most advanced interactions we’ve seen yet — especially if played on a Valve Index with the intricate “knuckles” Index controllers. But if you don’t have an Index, Boneworks is coming to Rift, Vive, and other SteamVR headsets too. We’ve even said it feels like the first “next generation” VR game.

From the sounds of it, Stress Level Zero is apparently building out an entire universe of games with Boneworks. Previously they released Hover Junkers when the Vive first came out and later on Duck Season, a trippy and unsettling retro shooter.

Stay tuned for more details on the new Boneworks universe game for Quest as we find out. Let us know what you think down in the comments below!
