Gear VR gets some more time in the spotlight on the Oculus Store this week, while there’s plenty of new content for Oculus Rift owners over on Steam, too. One game you won’t be playing (unless you downloaded it very quickly) is HeadMaster, which has been removed from the store due to some pretty amazing issues.

Suicide Squad: Special Ops VR, from Warner Bros
Price: Free (Gear VR)
It’s a few weeks late for the disappointing movie, but at least this tie-in VR game itself is a pretty fun romp. It’s a first-person shooter in which you’ll take on the role of a handful of DC’s famous villains, batting away bad guys (literally) as Harley Quinn and making pro-shots at Deadshot.
Recommendation: It’s a rock solid shooter for Gear and available completely free. Grab it.
CubeRun VR, from MirrorKeyVR
Price: Free (Gear VR)
No prize for guessing what this one’s all about. It’s a first-person endless runner in which you’ll grab coins as you avoid obstacles. Your speed builds up over time, making things progressively more difficult. If you’ve owned a Gear VR over the past year, you’ll probably played this type of game already.
Recommendation: If endless runners haven’t got you running yet, have at it.
Starship Disco, from Solus Games
Price: $9.99 (Gear VR)
More musical mayhem awaits you with this rhythm-based shooter. You pilot a craft, blasting targets that appear to the beat. There’s some stock disco music to work with but the best feature is the ability to import your own tracks to work with.
Recommendation: A pretty inventive shooter which gets a thumbs up from us.

MSI Electric City, from Metanaut
Price: Free (Oculus Rift)
There’s brief, futuristic fun to be had in this immersive new experience from the company behind VR’s first gaming laptop. You’re taken on a ride of a sci-fi city that has plenty of sights and sounds to take in. It’s certainly flashy, but doesn’t seem to offer anything long-lasting.
Recommendation: You can live without it, but it’s worth a quick look.

Worldy Cup, from Tommosaur
Price: $9.99 (Oculus Rift)
Usually with VR sports we get simulation. Wordly Cup is not that. Calling back to the days of Sensible Soccer, this is an endearing arcade-esque game where you face off against another team on pitches like, uh, the moon. It’s only Early Access right now, but it seems pretty interesting.
Recommendation: Definitely worth a look for soccer fans.

Space Jones VR, from VikingVR Studio
Price: $15.99 (Oculus Rift)
A flight-based sci-fi action game where you control your ship by tilting your head and aim your guns with motion controls or a gamepad. It boasts a single-player story mode and a full upgrade system that might be worth digging your teeth into.
Recommendation: Unlikely to set the world on fire, but could be an amusing distraction.
