Someone said on Facebook you can set your system time back one week as a temporary fix. Has anyone tried it?

You can indeed fix the Rift buy doing this but DO NOT do it! It will screw up all sorts of other software. It’s been reported that it breaks Steam.

I hope those things will start working again when you set the right time?

Typically they will. I run into quite a few time mismatch errors in enterprise environments, and setting the system clock to proper values has always fixed them.

I set the date back 3 days, restarted my pc, and now it’s working again with no issues so far. 👍

      • This is one of those “solutions” that will work fine and work fine until it doesn’t. For a lot of people, there might not be any side effects, but it’s tough to predict. You could lose activations of software, roll back updates in Windows: I know I sound like Y2K paranoia right now, but screwing with the system time can really mess things up in ways you may not anticipate. My advice: ride it out. Oculus is a large company, this is too big to ignore, and the longer this goes on, the better the mea culpa will be. I got, like, fifty bucks worth of free games from PlayStation when they screwed up the PlayStation Network. Just sayin…

What’s the issue? My Oculus software’s still running just fine…

Past me is really dumb. XD
