Somewhat unsurprisingly, Sony’s PlayStation VR (PSVR) is getting a new holiday bundle that includes id Software’s Doom VFR.
Announced this week on the PlayStation Blog, the Doom VFR bundle includes a copy of the upcoming first-person shooter (FPS), which remixes the 2016 game with some new content, as well as the headset and camera. Doom supports the Move controllers and PlayStation Aim controller, but these aren’t included. The game can of course be played with the DualShock 4, though.
As expected, the bundle features the new model PSVR, which includes a handful of small redesigns, as well as the new demo disc with plenty of new content on offer.
The bundle sells for — you guessed it — $399 and launches in the US on December 1st (the same day the game launches on both PSVR and the HTC Vive). No word on an EU release right now.
The news comes just as Sony and Bethesda prepare for the launch of the Skyrim VR bundle hitting on Friday, which is essentially the same package but swaps out Doom for the legendary open-world RPG. Doom was one of our favorite VR games at E3 this year, so we’re looking forward to its release, though the Aim Controller is a little awkward to play with in this case.
