Here Are The PlayStation VR Games You Can Try At Gamescom

The best way to sell people on PlayStation VR, or any VR headset for that matter, is to let people try it for themselves. One of the biggest and best chances to do that is right around the corner.

Gamescom 2016 takes place next week from August 17th – 21st in Cologne, Germany. As per usual, the general public will be allowed in after an initial press day, swarming into the halls of the Koelnmesse exhibition center like a hungry horde of zombies. Sony may be pulling out of its usual press conference for the event for the second year in a row, but it’s still going to be on the show floor with a whole heap of games, including an incredibly impressive line-up for PlayStation VR.

A total of 17 games will be on display for the headset at this year’s event, the full list of which you can see below. For the most part it includes titles announced either at or before E3 2016 last June, including games like Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Farpoint, and Batman: Arkham VR. There’s also some playable debuts from the likes of Super Stardust Ultra VR, and Hustle Kings VR. Interestingly, SEGA’s Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live is also listed, suggesting that the game will get a western release when we previously only saw it in Japan.

This will be one of the last major opportunities for people to get their hands on PlayStation VR before it launches on October 13th, which is only around 60 days away now. Gamescom is attended in the many thousands, so you can expect lengthy queues to try the anticipated device. If you’re in the US, you might want to check up on demos at your local Best Buy store.

PlayStation VR might be out soon but we’re still expecting some major announcements for the kit in the even closer future. Recently, Sony announced a press event for September 7th, where it’s assumed the company will debut its upgraded PlayStation 4 console, codenamed NEO. If true, then we’re expecting the kit to boost VR titles, either from a performance or visual perspective. Until then, though, a month of speculation still awaits.
