With just a little less than two weeks left to go until Sony’s debut virtual reality headset hits the market, we’ve got our review unit in hand. Sony announced the PlayStation VR a few years ago — previously known as Project Morpheus — and has been continually peeling back the layers with more and more information as time passes.
This year at GDC, we got a price point and a glimpse at the launch lineup of games, which was expanded significantly at E3, when they also announced an official release date for October 13th, 2016. So now that the PlayStation VR is nearly upon us and we have one in hand, we thought it was only appropriate to let you see what we found inside.
Above, you’ll also find a video of a Sony representative quickly going through all of the components. For a closer look, check out our big ol’ photo gallery down below.
For an in-depth analysis of what we think of the PlayStation VR and its launch games, you’ll have to wait just a little while longer. In the meantime, make sure you catch up with our ‘50 Days of PS VR‘ countdown series that is going strong with over 30 games broken down thus far. Each day since over a month ago, we’ve highlighted a single PS VR game and dove into what we think of it, interviewed its creators, and even debuted new information in some cases.

You can read our latest entry in the series, which focuses on Thumper, and also check out the full list of games we’ve spotlighted at the end of that article. We’ve still got around 13 more games to go before the headset releases on October 13th, 2016, so make sure to check back.
What questions do you have about the headset and its games? Let us know in the comments and we’ll make sure to answer them in our full review.
