PSVR 2 players can now join the table for a virtual round of poker in PokerStars VR, which released earlier today for Sony's new VR headset.
The release dropped onto PlayStation VR2 without much fanfare or prior warning. It's one of a few stealth releases that arrived on the headset this week, alongside Transformers Beyond Reality and Organ Quarter.
You can check out the announcement trailer embedded above, which largely looks similar to the release available on Quest, just without Meta avatars. Here's a description of what to expect, taken from the PlayStation Store listing:
PokerStars VR brings you a free-to-play virtual reality casino that truly has no limits. Step into the future with this game-changing release from one of the biggest names in the business. Challenge friends and players from around the world in electrifying games of poker, blackjack, roulette, slots and craps.
PokerStars is free-to-play (with in-game purchases), however playing online will require a PlayStation Plus subscription, as is the case with all multiplayer games on the platform.
PokerStars is also available for Quest headsets. However its Quest Store page description confirms that the game will soon drop support for the original Oculus Quest headset, effective October 18, 2023.
It's been a big month for VR releases, with more to come – you can find more info in our full list of new VR games arriving this month.
