Prison Boss VR Looks Like Job Simulator For Locked Up Convicts

There is a career out there for everybody. I strongly believe that some people were born to do certain professions and it’s all about educating yourself and taking the opportunities as they come. For example, Shigeru Miyamoto was clearly born to be the world’s greatest game designer as the father of Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong. Stephen King found his calling as a prolific writer. Then there are people that were just born to be career criminals. You play one of those people in Prison Boss VR from Trebuchet Games.

Instead of having you actually go through the trouble of committing crimes (boring, tons of games have done that already) Prison Boss VR skips ahead to after you’re locked up. How do you survive on the inside? How do you make sure no one messes with you or gives you a hard time? You become the king of the prison yard.

By crafting various items for selling and trading like cigarettes, drinks, and various other illicit materials you slowly build your empire. It looks to play a lot like Job Simulator with large, white glove-hands as your means of interaction from the first-person perspective. You can see some of the activities on display in the trailer above. Clearly, this is all in good fun and isn’t meant to be a realistic simulation by any means.

“Prison Boss VR is a crafting and trading game using room-scale to turn your VR space into a jail cell,” writes Vincent Brunet-Dupont fo Trebuchet Games in an email. “Craft cigarettes, alcohol, cookies for other inmates, customize your cell as your reputation grows and earn cash to buy new materials and furniture.”

You can look for Prison Boss VR to release on Steam for HTC Vive later this month on August 29th. What do you think of the idea? Let us know down in the comments below!
