There Are Already PS VR Accessories For Storing And Charging Gear

Imagine it’s a month from now and you’ve got your shiny new PS VR headset. You’re loving your rounds in RIGs and laps of DriveClub, but in those depressing hours of the day that you have to spend in real reality, there’s one big problem: where do you actually put the thing?

A $399 headset isn’t something you just want to leave lying around on the floor. Fortunately, accessory manufacturers are going to have you covered with a range of products that will help you not only store PS VR, but also take it to other people’s homes so you can share the headset love with everyone.

On the storage side, there’s already some fairly promising stuff up for pre-order on Amazon. Both BD&A and Collective Minds have some pretty promising stands for the device that will also house and even charge some of your other accessories. The former’s $49.99 offering, seen above, is officially licensed by Sony itself, and includes space for the headset as well as charging stands for a DualShock 4 and two PlayStation Move motion controllers. It’s all nestled neatly under the PS VR unit. With Move’s two white orbs below it, the headset looks a little like a mother hen waiting for her beautiful VR eggs to hatch.

This, however, appears to be the cheaper and seemingly more feature-complete $34.99 product from Collective Minds. Not only does this house all of the same accessories as BD&A’s stand, but it’s also got room for an extra DualShock 4 and evening a gaming headset (as in for ears, not eyes), with a USB port for charging. And there are LED charge indicators on the bottom too.

But don’t close your wallet just yet; there are two other officially licensed PS VR accessories that will help keep your headset safe. One is BD&A’s $39.99 storage case, fitted to the undeniably awkward shape of the headset itself and proudly displaying its logo on the top. It’s got a handle for transportation and internal mesh to keep everything snug and cozy, too.

Or you might want to consider RDS Industries’ $59.99 deluxe carry case. It’s a bit pricier but has additional compartments for storing cables. All of these products are going to release a few weeks after PS VR itself hits on October 13th, though they’ll still arrive in that same month.

So that’s accessories covered, but what about games? If you’re interested in knowing what’s coming to the system then you should really be checking out our 50 Days of PS VR feature, where we’re counting down the days left by highlighting one new title a day.
