PSVR’s The Inpatient And Bravo Team Delayed Into 2018

Two of PlayStation VR’s (PSVR’s) biggest holiday releases are no longer holiday releases.

PlayStation Europe just tweeted to confirm that The Inpatient and Bravo Team, two games from Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games, will now be releasing in 2018. The Inpatient will now be launching on January 24th, while Bravo Team has been pushed back all the way to March 7th.

The news is somewhat unexpected, as both games were expected to launch in just a few weeks’ time and were shown to press at the start of this month. Sony noted that the delays had been made to give the developer more time to improve the experiences.

The Inpatient is a prequel to the studio’s popular Until Dawn series and sees players trying to escape a mental asylum. Bravo Team, meanwhile, is a straight-faced military shooter that uses the new Aim Controller bundled with copies of Farpoint.

PSVR isn’t being left out in the cold this Christmas, though; next week will see Bethesda launch The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR on the platform and just a few weeks later it’ll release Doom VFR too. Still, we can’t deny it’s a shame that we’ll be waiting a bit longer for the next Supermassive game.

I don’t see it as much of a loss, cause whilst I’m personally excited for the inpatient, there’s so many other games, both VR and non-VR that I still have to finish up just from this Fall/Holiday alone. I’m certain the Skyrim bundle is going to scoop up new VR users, so the sales of these 2 games could have been severely hurt.

And if they need a little more time to be improved, so be it. Until Dawn, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and Hidden Agenda were fantastic…So I’d rather these two titles cook a little more if need be. Plenty of titles to keep ourselves pre-occupied with,
