Radial-G Gets PSVR Release Date, Daydream Version Launched

There’s a lot going on in the world of Radial-G, the Wipeout-inspired VR racer from Tammeka Games.

First up, the game’s finally coming to PSVR well over a year after reaching the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. IT’s coming to the EU first, arriving on the PlayStation Store on September 12th, with a boxed edition arriving on the 15th. The US will get it later on in the month, though no final date just yet.

The PSVR version is a little different to the PC one, as the number of racers has been halved from 16 to eight, likely thanks to the power constraints on the PS4 compared to the beefy PCs that run the Rift and Vive. Other than that, though, it’s identical to the original version with single and multiplayer modes with nine tracks and seven types of ship. You’ll speed through tubular tracks at break neck speed.

Radial-G looks like a great fit for Sony’s console given that PlayStation is home to the Wipeout series. A remaster of previous games in the franchise released on the console earlier this year, but there was no PSVR support to be seen. The PSVR version costs £29.99.

That’s not all, though, as Radial-G is now available on Google’s Daydream platform. In this single-player spin-off you’ll race against four AI opponents on the same nine tracks. Previously Tammeka had created an entirely different game — Radial-G: Infinity X — for mobile headsets so it’s cool to see a more direct version reaching the platform.

You no longer have an excuse not to get into Radial-G, then.
