Recore developer Armature made its debut in VR last year with the likable Fail Factory for Gear VR, but it looks like there’s more to come.
In a recent tweet sent out by the Austin-based studio the team noted that it was working on ‘an original IP VR project’and is currently hiring engineers to work on it and other projects. No other details about the new title are known at this time (keep in mind there’s always a chance this could still be referring to Fail Factory in some form or another).
Some exciting projects happening at Armature: an original IP console project; an original IP VR project; co-development on Fortnite… and we are having a blast doing it!
We are seeking ENGINEERS to join our talented teams on these awesome projects! https://t.co/mplwFke530 pic.twitter.com/JS4a5CAsWj— Armature Studio (@ArmatureStudio) March 1, 2018
That said, we can’t help but point out that Fail Factory was published by Oculus itself. Is it possible, then, that Armature’s new VR title is also published by the makers of the Rift? If that’s the case, could we perhaps expect to see it revealed either later this month at GDC or at PAX East in April?
We certainly hope so; Armature is mainly known for porting games to other consoles but has also created its own titles, like Xbox One exclusive Recore and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. We’d love to see what more they can do with VR.
