Rift Owners Should Start Receiving $15 Of Free Oculus Credit Today

by David Jagneaux • March 13th, 2018

On March 7th, 2018 almost every single Oculus Rift around the world was rendered unusable thanks to a code expiration. Late that night (into the morning of March 8th) the headset creator finally issued a patch to fix the issue, along with the promise of $15 in free Oculus store credit.

Starting today, that free credit is rolling out to Rift owners. If you’re eligible (meaning you used your Rift at least once on or after February 1st, 2018 up until March 8th) then you should have gotten an email that looks something like this:

You don’t have to actually do anything at all to receive the $15 of store credit — it will automatically appear in your Oculus Account. If you’re torn on what to buy with that credit, take a look at our list of suggestions or our list of the best Rift games out there right now.

this is the 2nd time I receive in-store credit for a problem I haven’t experienced and I only learned about in the news. The 1st time was from PSN, it had a problem while I was sleeping and received in-store credit as an apology 🙂

Nice of them to offer $15, but a headset running on closed source software is scary. If facebook decides to shut it down your done.

Since I couldn’t even log in (logged into the website, but couldn’t access the program on my computer) that seems to make me ineligable for the store credit? I tried to set up an account not realising that the site was down at the time.
