Failed to get tickets to Coldplay’s most recent headlining tour? Then you might want to pick up a Gear VR soon.
Samsung today announced a partnership with Live Nation to live stream the band’s upcoming show at Chicago’s Soldier Field venue inside VR. Gear VR owners in more than 50 countries will be able to head into the Samsung VR app, and tune in at 8:30 pm CT on August 17th. Best of all, you won’t need to buy an e-ticket or anything like that; the show is completely free for Gear owners.
Using 360 degree cameras, you’ll be able to watch the concert as if you were really there. It’s a big show, so expect flashy production values as well as music (and, not that note, make sure you’ve got a pair of headphones to hand). If you can’t make it on the night, then it will be available as a replay for a limited time too. If anything, it’s better than paying a ticket tout.
