Unplugged Announces Pantera DLC Pack, Available Now

A new Pantera DLC pack for Unplugged was just announced at our Upload VR Showcase and guess what? It’s available now.

That’s right, heavy metal fans will be happy to hear that Unplugged’s next DLC pack features some of the biggest tracks from legendary metal band Pantera.

Unplugged Pantera DLC Released

The DLC is available now for the Quest platform and SteamVR (for hand tracking-enabled PC VR headsets) and features four tracks — Cowboys From Hell, Cemetery Gates, Becoming and I’m Broken.

It’s been a big couple of months for Unplugged post-launch. The Pantera pack is the second paid DLC release, following on from the Riff Pack, which added tracks by Gossip, Muse, Rob Zombie and Slayer.

Even better, the game recently drastically improved in reliability and performance thanks to the implementation of Meta’s new Hand Tracking 2.0 update. The performance gains were so significant that Anotherway decided to go back and remap the entire game, to make the tracks feel more realistic and add increase challenge, as they were so confident in the new hand tracking system.

We also recently updated our Unplugged review, in light of the changes post-launch, and were able to give it an Essential rating — it’s a must-play for any Quest owner. Here’s an excerpt:

Unplugged feels like the first app to take Quest’s hand tracking to a new conceptual and technical level, using the technology to breathe life into the imaginary and fulfil a fantasy of every rock fan … It’s a shining example of how VR and AR technology can offer totally unique experiences, previously thought unimaginable.
