Skyrim VR Coming To Rift, Vive and Windows MR On April 3

by Ian Hamilton • March 14th, 2018

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is now available for pre-purchase on Steam for $59.99. The game came to PSVR last year, but its expansion onto PC VR platforms, with official listings for Rift, Windows MR and HTC Vive, marks a big moment.

We can’t wait to see what the game looks like on Rift and Vive, let alone the prospect of visiting that world on something like the Samsung Odyssey or Vive Pro. The traditional PC version of Skyrim remains one of the most modified titles in existence, so it will also be interesting to see what dedicated fans might try to bring to the official VR version of the game. Skyrim VR includes the game’s official expansions — Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn — but we don’t have any word yet on whether mods will work. Mods don’t work with the PSVR version.

Hopefully us Rift owners will get a working version this time. Fallout 4 VR felt amazing, but after a couple of hours I gave up due to the controls, even with the different solutions from the community.

Fallout 4 vr not supported. Skyrim VR full support.

I want multiplayer or cooperative play!

      Not likely in Skyrim.
Maybe in Elder Scrolls VI if they take a lesson from ESO and Far Cry 4/5.

    This is GREAT news!!!

PSVR users got mad and disliked this.

Or just someone who doesnt like Skyrim maybe????? I’m a psvr user and I think this is great news. More games on more formats. Bored of this childish faction mentality. Fingers crossed for fallout coming to psvr.

Why would you go around disliking intentionally articles simply because you don’t like the game? Now that’s actually freaking childish.

Think you missed the point – I’m saying don’t assume anyone with a psvr doesn’t support pc vr. Or vice versa,

Yea but I bet he is right though, even if it’s not you I bet a few of those down votes were a few bitter PSVR users.

Those pesky psvr types…. 😉 To be fair, you’re right in that sadly there are a few psvr-or-nothing fanboys floating around on these sites too

This is going to be awesome with PC levels of VR tracking, super-sampling, and room-scale. Bring it on. I’m just hoping for a mod or Bethesda to fix the bow mechanics (I always play archer in Elder’s Scroll games). They were wonky on the PSVR when I tried them at best, someone could mod something in that works closer to in-death or the lab’s archery section that would be intense.

Don’t f**ckin pre-order this. Evryone already forgot Fallout 4 VR straight up didn’t work upon release.
