More trigger-happy VR action is on its way to a headset near you; Star Rage VR looks like the kind of first-person shooter (FPS) that fans have been calling out for.
The first title from Metaverse (a name strangely similar to Multiverse, the developers of the strikingly similar Seeking Dawn), Star Rage VR transports you to a distant planet to do battle with wild, primitive aliens. You play as one of a team of pathfinders, looking for new worlds for humanity to colonize, now on the hunt for your missing team.
As you’d expect, the game’s set to offer dual-wielding FPS action. Developed with Unreal Engine 4, there’s some great looking environments and enemy design here, even if it isn’t visually consistent in the below trailer. Still, it looks like there’s enough gunfire and explosions to satisfy our need for destruction.
We’ve also got some questions about length; the developer says it’s five levels long. But, hey, if those five levels offer plenty of engaging content then we certainly won’t pass this up.
Star Rage VR is set to launch soon on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift for $19.99, with a PSVR version expected to arrive later on.
