Remember Tales of Glory?
It was one of the many VR games that had dreams to rooting you in medieval-era combat. Warring factions clashing in the heat of battle, mighty axe swings and buckets of blood; that sort of thing. It wasn’t the most elegant attempt, but it had heart. Now it’s getting a sequel.
Tales Of Glory 2: Retaliation gives the series the modern warfare treatment. That means swords and shields are being swapped out for rifles, pistols and knives. While it might not directly follow up on the original’s setting the developer says it carries the overall theme of putting players in enormous battles, regardless of era. Check out some gameplay below.
The developer is currently sharing progress updates on YouTube. Take a look at the… less than pleasant melee takedowns video below (warning: it’s very gory). It certainly seems like BlackTale is stepping up its games to square off with the likes of Blade and Sorcery.
There’s still a lot to learn about this one, though. We don’t know how many levels it’s going to offer, for example, or if there will be any multiplayer options.
The original Tales of Glory hasn’t actually left Early Access yet, though BlackTale Games says the work it’s doing on the sequel will be integrated into the first by the end of the year.
No word yet on when Tales of Glory 2 will arrive but we’ll keep you posted. Will you be picking the game up? Let us know in the comments below.
