OC4: Titanfall Developer Respawn Announces Oculus Rift Exclusive VR Shooter

by Jamie Feltham • October 11th, 2017

Respawn Entertainment, the developer of the hugely popular Titanfall franchise, is working on a shooter for the Oculus Rift.

A short trailer for the game was revealed at Oculus Connect today, though there was no name and very little in the way of footage. Based on commentary from the developers themselves, they’re working on a realistic shooter of sorts, but that’s about as much as we can cover. It’s going to release in 2019, so there’s plenty of time to find out.

Respawn was created by former members of Infinity Ward, the creators of the Call of Duty series, and Titanfall has received critical acclaim in its two games. That spells good things for Rift owners.

Nice. Hope it actually delivers something worthy of such a big name in the industry and now such high expectations.

    Exciting but utterly pointless announcement.

Game looked good ashame it is wasted on being an oculus exclusive though.

Hopefully the arrival of more vr headsets deters developers from these exclusive deals, seems pretty redundant to develop vr games for just the rift now.
