The May 2023 PlayStation Store chart rankings are now available, with Beat Saber reclaiming its long-held crown with the no. 1 spot in both Europe and the US.
The news comes from Sony's monthly round-up on PlayStation Blog, which ranks the PlayStation Store's top downloads for each active platform. March 2023's download rankings saw Pavlov take no. 1, losing in the April 2023 rankings to Creed: Rise to Glory - Championship Edition in the US/Canada. However, neither game breached the top 3 in May's latest report.
Despite stealth dropping during PlayStation Showcase near the end of last month, Beat Saber takes no.1 across both regions. This isn't too surprising considering Beat Saber dominated the charts for years on the original PSVR system. Though the PSVR 2 version supports crossbuy, these PSVR 2 figures appear to be fresh sales. Underneath the sales table, Sony notes, "game upgrades or games bundled with hardware not included."
Next on the list are Walkabout Mini Golf and Red Matter 2, both debuting last month on PSVR 2 and swap between no.2 and no.3 across the two regions. Pavlov takes no.4, while Kayak VR: Mirage, Creed, Job Simulator, Pistol Whip, The Dark Pictures: Switchback, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge and Swordsman VR round out these lists.
Between Budget Cuts Ultimate, Pixel Ripped 1978, C-Smash VRS and more, June 2023 looks like a quieter but interesting month on PSVR 2. You can find out more in our upcoming round-up below:
